Help Me Believe, Let Me Believe, I want to Believe

Matthew 9:20-22 (King James Version)

20And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

21For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

22But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

I was listening to this song from Kirk Franklin latest Album "Fight of my Life"
The song is called Help me believe.
I am just going to share what I feel inside while reading each verse.


[Intro]
"I just want to write you a letter. I have to be very honest with you right now. I don't really know how to say this... "

[Verse 1:]

But I'm having a hard time seeing past what I see right now,

But when I try to fly I realize I don't know how, no one showed me how
Wish I could see that this mess I'm in will really work out for my good, you said it would

My faith is almost gone, I can't hold on much longer, take this cup from me

I know this song can touch a lot of us in so many ways. The title of the Album is called fight for my life and its interesting because each and everyday we as Christians are fighting for our lives. I can openly admit sometimes I really feel like my faith has gone and I'm holding on by just a string, just like like the woman in the New Testament who had hemorrhage for 12 years..

Just by believing that she could be healed by touching the hem of Jesus garment that attributed to her being healed. Sometimes it doesn't take much, than just simple faith in the power of Jesus Christ can free us. This woman was faced with 12 years of issues, like all of us we have some issues in our lives that we are fighting to be free of; we trying to figure out each day WHY ME, we cry out to God and wonder if he hear us. He does, just look within your circumstances for the blessing he has already provided. Sometimes our circumstances are things that make us stronger, things that build our character, they can be things that give us a testimony to pass on to other when we over come them.  I am sure after that woman was healed she would have spread the news of how she touch Jesus and was healed.  So we need to reach for Jesus and believe he can deliver us from anything that we face.

Mark 14:36 (New International Version)

36"Abba,Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

Its a wonderful thing to know we serve a God who knows what it feels to hurt, whats its like when we cry, What we feel when we ask for this Cup to be taken away from us. There are some thing in my life that I know I cannot carry by myself and I too will cry out for this cup to taken away, but Jesus said at the end even thou he is faced with this task, "Yet not my will but yours". At the end of this all, end of this fight I choose the will of God over mine. Let Go & Let God.

I wanna believe when I close my eyes on this side I'll wake up with you, more in love with you
And, and finally, you will say my race it is over and my work is through, cause I believed in you
I know dark nights will come and some days there'll be no sunshine and you're too far to see

This fight for our lives can really take a toll on us and we would pray that its all over and we can now rest in the arms of Jesus.  We all have our dark nights and they are days where there truly ain't no sun to shine on us, but God is not too far to see it, he is there.  We all wish this race would be over, and when we open our eyes we are seated right next to Jesus.  I can say until then, continue to believe, continue to hold on, in the book of Revelation is says "We WIN", so believe that the battle as always been won, all we need to do is to hold on and claim it. 

Luke 17:5-6 (Amplified Bible)

5The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith (that trust and confidence that spring from our belief in God).

    6And the Lord answered, If you had faith (trust and confidence in God) even [so small] like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you.

I save the chorus for last because this is where unbelievers and believers struggles are. Yes, its extremely hard to believe in what we can't see, in the natural man's mind he would ask " how can you know if someone exist and you can't see it?" " How can you put your faith and trust in who, what, I don't see it, him? " 

Its hard as a believer, but that is where faith steps in, God's ways are not our ways, God thoughts are not our thoughts, the natural way how a man thinks will always prevent him from seeing and understanding God.  We know that the Lord works in the supernatural, we just need to get our minds to believe that realm exist.  

The chorus in this song is a cry out to God, help, we need help to believe. I say keep on asking God to help you believe, once you want to believe in him, he will help.

Have you ever taken the time out just to sit somewhere and see people walk past you, see how the operate in their daily lives. Spend like 5 minutes at a public place and watch some people pass you by, look at what some people doing at that moment, look to see who help the disable, look to see who throw a paper down, look to see who curse someone, look to see who was kind, look to see who showed love, Look to see where God is in their circumstances, look to see who is in worst circumstances than you.  The problem with us is that we don't take the time out from our troubles and see that we are blessed, because some people are worst than us. The moment we stop looking at US and look at God and what he is doing that is when we see that He exists, he's always been there working and he needs helpers.  Help someone today with anything little thing at all and see the smile on their faces, share with someone the blessings you have received in the past and you will see the blessing you have pass unto them. 

These are some thoughts I wanted to share about this song.  We are fighting for our lives, we all are struggling with issues and our faith WILL be tested. Just know that the word of the Lord is true, he will never leave you or forsake you, he will make his face shine upon you in your dark moments. Praise him in the good and bad times, worship him at all times, Not my will but God's will be done in our lives.
